There's no really simple answer to this question. The choice of a mouthpiece depends your own personal preferences and anatomy (no one else has your face) and what kind of sound you're looking to get.

A Bach 24AW is an excellent mouthpiece for many (I believe that John Fletcher used one). Some prefer the Bach 18 as a good all-around mouthpiece. There are many makers of mouthpieces who offer a bewildering variety of models.

If you like Bach mouthpieces, have a look at the Selmer web site. There is a good description of each model there.

But the process of selecting a mouthpiece for most people is simply a matter of trying one type after another until you find what you're looking for.
