The American Federation of Musicians, in coordination with the International Congress of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM), and the Regional Orchestra Players Association (ROPA, publishes a comparative wage chart like the one you are seeking.

They all have web sites.

The chart is available as a benefit of membership in the AFM: call the AFM at 1-800-ROADGIG, and get connected to the symphony department - Janice Galassi (fine cellist) runs it. Tell 'em I sent you; I used to work there, and Janice used to spend part of her time working for me.

If you are going to do this for a living (that you are currently a student is immaterial to this question) YOU NEED TO JOIN THE UNION. Every decent orchestra job in the US and Canada is under an AFM contract, which contains the wages, fringe benefits and working conditions - auditions, etc.

Plus the networking available to you through the union, and the conferences becomes exponential.

Check out AFM.org.
