I think that a lot of the focal dystonia is based on 1) not being careful in your practicing, not knowing when to stop and take a break; 2) not knowing what sound to try and achieve on a big horn, its not a big, fat sound ...but a very searing bright sound. I think that these are the two main factors contributing to focal dystonia.
