The first tuba that I ever owned was a Cerveny "piggy". The intonation took a little while to work out but it had a gorgeous dark sound. This was my only horn for about seven years. I know of others who have had similar experiences with Cerveny tubas. A word of warning, the metal is very thin and is easily dented. The quality control is also suspect but if you can find a store with several in stock you can play them side by side and do a quality check at the same time.
