Most likely, if a trombone has Beau Ideal engraved on it and was made in Chicago in 1919, it was made by Frank Holton, a former Sousa band trombonist. Holton started his company in Chicago in 1901, and built a 2nd plant in Elkhorn, WI in 1918. The Chicago plant closed in 1931.
