I am quite familiar with all of the different embouchures that people use. Each person has a different setup of jaw/teeth/lips and may not be able to play like their teacher. The problem is, many teachers and players don't recognize that fact.
The well-known trombonists with low-placement embouchures like yours are Blair Bollinger (bass trombone, Philadelphia Orchestra) and Rusty McKinney (bass trombone, Utah Symphony). In euph players, I think David Werdon (retired from the Coast Guard Band) has the same embouchure. I've only seen him from a distance in concerts so I could be wrong. Go have a lesson with him.
