I found a cloth with soe chemicals (unknown) in it that does an amazing job of remove the tarnish from brass slides. Since my horn has an acrylic or epoxy laquer on it, it doesn't seem to touch it. Slides are bright when doen and it is very easy. Kind of like Wight's Copper Polish but made for brass instruments. Also works on valves.

Called "Slide and Valve Care" by Blitz Manufacturing P.O. Box 5815 Riverside, CA 92517-5815 Stock # 304.

I also use it inside casings and slides.

They make a variety of other cleaning cloths for most types of instruments.
