I would think most people with jobs practice enought to keep up with their jobs, and not much more. I would bet almost no one practices 40 hours a week. With a 20 hour rehearsal/performance week, I beth they don't even get to 40 if you count that. it will differ for so many different people. I know one orchestral tuba player that does about an hour a day, outside of the job, just to keep up with the job. if solo comes up, practice will involve that and is done as needed. Sheez, who has time to practice 40 hours a week when you have a job?
