I had a seating audition today for a youth symphony and we had a moderator in the room to clarify anything for us - and to announce the solo that we would be performing. I have been in this program for 3 years, so the conductors who were auditioning us know me by name. The solo I prepared was Effie Suite by Alec Wilder. When the moderator announced this it took the conductors a second and they said Wilder out loud as though the moderator let something slip that she should not have. My questions is not 'should I have not given the name of the composer' but this was a little wierd, there was another tuba player auditioning so the blindness of the audition was important to keep - and granted they don't know 100% that it was me playing - but has this ever happend to anyone else? Thanks,

Julie Wilder
