A helicon that I recently sold (York-made) had feather-weight pistons...and completely rebuilt. I could have made them lightning fast I suppose with standard springs (King tuba springs, whatever) but instead I chose to use (not even standard but light gauge) baritone horn springs on that instrument. Incredibly nice feel.
