I'm going to try and contact the Cincinatti Conservatory regarding this, but I'm wondering if any of you might know. I recently put up a site dedicated to Robert M. Barr, former band director at Jordan High School in Columbus, Ga. Barr was a tuba player and he was born in 1919. He started teaching at the school in 1947. What I'm wondering about is if there is any connection between Bob Barr and William Bell. Bob Barr went to the Cincinatti Conservatory. Williams Bell taught at the conservatory in the late 20's and early 30's. I don't know when Barr went to the conservatory. If I did I think I could safely assume that he studied with Bell. Does anybody know anything about Bob Barr or if this is a possibility. I admit, since Bell played with the Cincinatti Symphony only until 1937, Barr would have had to be pretty young, but do you think it could have happened. Also, does anybody know who took over teaching at the conservatory after Bell left. Thanks.
