Try this:
Play a Bb scale going down (slowly, breathe when you need to) starting at low Bb. (Valve combinations in parenthesis). Bb (0) A (2) G (12) F (13) Eb (0) D (2) C (12) Bb (0). This will help with your low range, even though you can play some of these notes with the fourth valve. Use only three valves for this exercise, and use your ear to adjust the pitch. Starting with the Eb, the sound quality will change. Don't worry about that, just play the right pitches.
