Some good advice from the other posts...On the 'How much lower can you go?' portion, I find that when I start on the pedal BBb and decend,relying solely on the mechanics of the horn, that the Db/C wants to actually sound up an octave. I think that I am actually activating the 1st harmonic because the fundamental is basically too low. There may be some horn design/mpc considerations, not really sure. Basically, the horn may not be able to support the sound wave. Possibly controlling the looseness embochure so that the lips vibrate in a manner consistant with such a low frequency sound is an issue also, more of flap than a buzz. You may notice that if you 'pop' the mpc with your lips that an extremely low pitch is produced. Hopefully someone familiar with this, possilbly Preston James or Emory Powell, will reply and clarify it for both of us.
