Don't ask me to take on a job like that for $400 and then look the customer straight in the eye and say, "Now, your mouthpiece is exactly like it was when it was new."

On the other hand, I can take a mouthpiece down past all the nicks and imitate the original rim contour, but (agreeing with the 'master), this can cost more than a new mouthpiece...and (again) not 100% like new.

As to all of that extremely time-consuming (and not 100% effective) filling in of nicks, etc...That process STILL requires smoothing, and original material will disappear in this (far more expensive) method as well.

HE'S RIGHT. He should BUY A NEW ONE...and quit razzin' him about it. (???) All he wants to do is buy a new-condition mouthpiece ' same model as his banged-up one.
