I am a little confused myself by the posts so far. About the lowest I can get with any of my BBb tubas is the E natural below the end of the piano, which must be vibrating at about only 6 or 8 hertz (cycles per second). At this point, one's lips are just barely fluttering. With a 3 valve BBb tuba, the approximate fingering for this E natural is 1-2-3. With a 4 valve BBb tuba, I believe 2-4 would work.
