No, it plays better than it looks. I met Sam a little while back and played this horn. If I had the money, I would have bought it. It's very carefully constructed, has a beautiful, rich sound and excellent intonation. My comment to Sam was "why can't the big companies, with all their resources build 'em like this!" You could easily spent three times what Sam is asking and get less horn. Is it cosmetically perfect? No, but it PLAYS!
