IMHO, a CC just plays easier. It projects better so you don't have to work as hard, it responds a lot quicker and cleaner, and it is more agile. And it is still big enough to use in a band or orchestra.
If you listen to one player play something on a BBb and then the same thing on a CC, I think you would prefer the sound of the CC (providing it's a good horn. I've played some CC's that have left me looking for even a decent BBb to clean my palate.)
