Sorry, but I feel the need to pull your chain a bit. I think most people on this BBS equate "better" with "bigger". I play a 3/4 Rudy that is one of the most in-tune horns I have every played. Even the 5th partial is good! Also, I tested a VMI3302 at the Brasswind with the strobe tuner right in front of me. The machine said it was very good too (in case there is a question about my ear) and it is a BBb! Since part of the intonation equation is the player, it would be impossible to build a perfect horn. Maybe the increased air volume required by the 5/4 and 6/4 horns is the some of the cause of the intonation quirks.
