Some of you may remember me posting a message about this some time ago. I resumed tuba playing about a year ago after a 20 year layoff. While improvement is coming slow but sure, I still have an issue with tonguing technique. If I do not really concentrate, my tongue will slip down to a position where it is hitting the rear of my upper teeth, thus producing a "spitting" sound. When I do concentrate on trying to have it hit that little ridge just above my upper teeth, I periodically hear a "popping" sound. The faster I play, the more frequently I notice these problems. Any input as to how I can begin correcting this problem would be most appreciated.
