I have an old Conn Chief MP, also conical, does the same thing as others described. Nice to know this. Rarely use it. Don't know how old your horn is, but try checking your horn for loose joints and leaks, etc. especially all of the the tubing that leads to the 1st valve. Does the MP fit properly? I had a small brace that loosened and could not be seen or moved, but drove me crazy until I found it.
