I think a fair range for a 20j is somewhere between 1,200 and 1,500. I have sold 6/4 four valve tubas in the $2,500 and i fell that last valve is worth about $500 and a little mor ewhen it is front action. A 20 j is a great tuba however and I wold agree that its playability make it a desirable horn --but you may find another in the price range I have quoted and would save quite a bit. ( I also agree that cases can make it worth a bit more but I tend to consider them an extra that should not be factored into the price but rather an incentive point.
