Sorry if I came across as flaming YOU, that was not my intention. I was just trying to explain why, to a prospective shopper, a simple thumbs down is often not helpful.
I was also pointing out, without any intent to imply that you belonged in this category, that it is fashionable to bash the St. Pete, and the horn has been REPEATEDLY bashed by people who later admitted that they had no personal, first-hand experience with it. Now, I have never seen one, never heard one, and since I just bought a tuba am not considering buying one, so I'm not saying I disagree with your assessment, only that it is not useful to someone who IS considering such a purchase.
