As far as SNL goes, I have sitting here in front of me the Saturday Night Live The first twenty years book, and in it (on page 116 if you've got the book) is a picture of Howard Shore and his All-Nurse Band, in the front row on the far left, is Howard Johnson holding a tuba, did he ever play bari sax in the house band I don't know but he deffinatly was in the house band (the all nurse band was the house band dressed up) if this helps I'm glad if not I'm sorry for posting this meaningless drivel.
