Whittle Music Company was (perhaps) the biggest music store in Dallas for decades. They finally declined and went out of business in the early 1970's. They were big enough to have their own line of instruments, but I have no information on that. Your post was the first I had heard of it.
Charles Krause, tuba expert for Brook-Mayes Music Company in Dallas might be your first contact. He probably does not have direct knowledge, but the owner of Brook-Mays probably does as he and/or members of his family and staff (or retired staff--such as Jack Cline) were around when Whittle was in business. The folks at Brook-Mays would probably be happy to steer you in the right direction.
