I find that the water dribbling down my chin tends to be condensation from playing on a cold mouthpiece; I don't salivate that much when I play. Anna Russell, a well trained musician and a hilarious comedienne had a routine about "The French Horn" covering this.
One thing I found is that wiping the moisture from the inside of the mouthpiece was only half the task. The remainder was to wipe, carefully and thoroughly, the outside bottom, especially ahead of the rim. Water can collect there and, as you play, it will dribble down your chin, especially if you are leaned back as you play.
