Hi!

This horn really isn't new. It's been around for a while, but Amati has done some work to make it a much better instrument. I never saw the first versions, I just know what the most recent ones are like. This horn does have a nice sound, and the response is quite good. The ones I've played have had some intonation problems. Some of thoes problems were larger than others. If you like to pull slides, I didn't think any of the problems were unfixable. The only main thing that concerns me about these are the valves. The stoke is short, which is nice, but the pistons had a tendency to stick.

Over all, for the price, I think this is a good horn. I would not reccomend it for someone that is going to be majoring in music, but it would be a great horn for a person that is looking for a CC tuba for community band and stuff like that.

Take care!
