My biggest concern with the horn would not be whether it is high or low pitch, but if the horn is in tune with itself. On old horns like this, the fourth overtone series (D, Db, C, B,etc) is always very flat ( you can always use alternate fingerings like you would use an octave lower, but that gets to be a pain after awhile. Also the first overtone series (low Bb, A, Ab, etc.)can sometimes be as much as a half step flat. I have never played a horn, old or new, with the tuning slide in the lead pipe that was in tune with itself, with a true overtone series. I once owned an old H. N White King double bell Euph from the same era that was a beast to play in tune. They do have a lovely tone however and for $357 what do you want? Just don't buy it for a beginner.
