if you've got the dough, the Hirsbrunner (be careful, there are many diferent models) are really ncie instrments, but I really liked the last Meinl weston 2155 I played.
It depends what you want to do with it. Might a suggest a miraphone s186-5u. I played one last month last just blew me away, and for the price you could get yourself an f tuba too.
I would suggest making it to one of big music stores in the country or a large music convention. Play every model you can, until you fall in love.
I have never found a tuba in my life that I could not find somebody to say something really good about it, and somebody to think it's junk.
