I have recently had a couple of lessons with Norm Pearson of the LA Philharmonic. We worked on breathing. He gave me an analogy that helped a lot. Use your air stream as though you were trying to blow out a candle located across the room.
I kept this in mind during the 2 weeks between lessons. There was a big difference. Norm was very pleased with my progress.
