(not hearing Matt Walters around here in a while...)

The Adjustable Gap Receiver is a device devised by Mat Walters at Dillons to adjust the position of the mouthpiece within the receiver to control the gap between the end of the shank and the inside of the receiver. Reportedly, it has a profound effect on some horns regarding projection and sound.

Kelly O'Briant used one on his small Yamaha 621 F, and his review is, I'm sure, still in the archives. He liked it. A search should turn it up.

Give Matt a call at Dillon's, and he can tell you all about it.
