Try a Conn 2 (or a UMI 2 as they are now sold). They have a heavier rim, are deeper than a Conn 7B and produce a fuller sound for me than a Conn 7B does. The Bach 18 is one of two or three UTM (Univerdal Tuba Mouthpieces) from which we depart on a Journey to Perfection and Success. The Conn 2 is a similar mouthpiece but not configured like the Bach. By the way, the Bach 22 is a little smaller than the 18 and may also be a first stop on the journey.
