My father had a collection of tuba mouthpieces, but his favorite was made by Fred Geib. When he was studying with Bill Bell he found that Bell had several Conn-Geibs in his drawer, and he gave my father a couple, along with some old Hellebergs. Anyway, a time came when my father had to use a new King that his school had purchased, while his own tuba was in the shop. His favorite Geib didn't seem quite right on the king, nor did the hellebergs. The one that he settled on was a Stanley. It has slightly more bowl than the Geib, which has much more bowl than a Helleberg. That's what worked for him.
