I've never done the Rose Parade, but this thread reminds me of a parade 52 years ago in nearby Long Beach, CA. It was a review of 95 high school bands in the southern California area. I hope your experience in the Rose Parade will be different from what my band experienced in 1948. We were only 60 pieces. Marching 300 yards behind us was a non-high school "guest" band, the 250 piece University of Southern California Trojan Band. Holy smoke----they literally blew us off the street. I've hated the Trojans ever since. LOL
