We have a slightly different approach to the overall sound of our High School Band. We march 10 front with the four center people being brass in each rank. The Sousa are right behind the Percussion in the middle of the band. The last row has the same instrumentation as the first and the saxes are right around the percussion. We are a one school town with about 1900 kids in the school. For the Rose Parade we marched just over 300 musicians, this year we were marching 400. Our biggest problem is the streets are not wide enough to go to a 12 front. Phasing becomes a problem if we get any longer. In Disneyland last year we had to march 8 front to fit and got tied up in the circle because we were to long.
This year I'm going to enjoy the parade on TV!!!
