Trouble with articulation? Try switching to an "American" style Perantucci mouthpiece, such as the PT-44. I've played a variety of mouthpieces on a YBB-822 and found the sharper outer edge of the PT-44 to assist with crisper articulation. The same horn with a PT-88 sounds "tubbier" (is that a word?) with less precise attacks. Otherwise, I found the YBB-822 to be a very well-rounded horn far superior to the Miraphone. Any intonation problems are easily fixed by adjustment of the first valve slide, which is easy to reach, and minor lipping adjustments on non-first valve notes. It just takes some patience to set the slides right for your particular embouchure. And the pedal Db really rips - somewhat like tearing canvas.
