I beg to differ. I played a true double tuba in New York many yers ago. I believe that it was a Boosey & Hawkes but it was British made and had two separate sets of pipes and a change valve. This one was in B flat/E flat combination. It was pretty neat, heavy, and fun to fool around on but I don't know if I would ever gig with one.
