There was a guy at the E. TN TubaChristmas this morning that had a beautiful old Conn "Monster" Eb. He sounded great on it. If you can find a decent one to learn on, you could move up to a "better quality" Eb later and not have to learn something new. Beware of any great deals on ebay.

The most important thing that you can do is to get the advice of a local pro or grad student. They may be aware of a good deal in your area. Also make sure to take some lessons right off the bat. It's kind of like taking up golf. Yeah, you can hack around all you want, but the balls will spray all over the course. Getting a couple of lessons to get you off on the right foot will make all the difference in your ultimate enjoyment.

Welcome to the neighborhood!
