The 10J was an intermediate level, 3 top action valve, 3/4 sized horn. They advertised it as their "lightweight" model. In 1964 it sold for $560, compared to a 20J that was selling for $1000 at the time. I would put its current value between $750 to $1500 depending on the condition. It seems like a reasonable choice for someone playing as a hobby, although it may be a little small to carry a large band as the only tuba.
