Don't be put off by the suggested retail prices on the manufacturer sites. New tubas are discounted dramatically, often to less than one-half their MSRP. The tuba shops (as opposed to manufacturers) list prices at which they start (and sometimes finish) dickering. The going price for the small Weril is about $1700-1800.
Willson makes wonderful tubas, but they are professional instruments, larger, and much more expensive.
