They are both nice. I'ts been a while since I have played them , but from what I remember the range and intonation was good on both. The 56j is the bigger belled version of the 52j and gets a little more projection. It is a sweet, round, more diffuse sound compared to the Meinl's heavier, but more compact and focused sound.
