I just got done writing a thesis on developing a method book for high school students. There are some good dissrertations on the tuba out there already but there are none focused on beginning students and how method books work to develop technique and other specific skills needed for tuba playing in the elementary and middle school grade levels. There are a good deal on advanced techniques or the teaching styles of specific teachers. I would suggest reading through the Dissertations section in the Tuba Source Book and trying to further develop one of their ideas.
