Don't know if'n y'all remember a thread about a tuba for an 11-year-old over the summer.
My daughter is working hard and well on the Weril. She's got a good instructor at the Oberlin College conservatory. Her range is growing well at both the high and low ends. Her tone is OK to pretty good. Her intonation is very good and she's learning a couple of slide pulls to improve it further. It's no trouble to get her to practice. She's having a blast!
The only consistant criticism of the Weril I see around here is of the mouthpiece. Several folks have recommended the Conn-Helleburg 7B as an upgrade.
Christmas is right around the corner.
Would that mouthpiece make a good Christmas present?
