The opening of Britten's 'Guide to the Orchestra" is a pedal D (you know 5 ledger lines below the bass cleff). I can either pop it out cleanly (but quietly) or loud, not both. Every other note in the register is fine. I've tried many alternate fingerings including playing with false partials. The note is either enemic or is quite the "frack" (to quote a previous post).

Hints? Suggestions? Anyone else with a PT-6 have problems with this one note?

Oh, yes - and I've tried changing mouthpieces. It seems either horn or me related, as different mpc's only give different tonal quality to the frack.
