If you're looking especially for a hand guard for a euph, a piece of vinyl tubing works really well. On my Yamaha 641 I use a piece of 5/8" tubing cut to length (~ 5") and then carefully slit length-wise and slipped over the handle. Vinyl tubing does not cause any tarnish to silver. The 5/8" tubing is a bit smaller than the handle diameter so it fits snugly without slipping. I turn the tubing so the slit is away from my hand and facing the valves. This tubing costs $.25 per foot at Home Depot so one foot lasts a long time. After maybe 6 months I cut a new piece.

Hope this helps.
