Leon was right on. You can also order everything you need (except velcro) from Tandy Leather. I don't need the protection, but I do leatherwork on the side. It's easy. You will need a box cutter or exacto type tool to cut the leather. Get something in the 1-2 oz. size. 3-4 square feet. Any color. You could line it in felt, suede, shearling, etc. They also have leather glue. My $.02
