Pay attention to pain. It's telling you something isn't quite right. Sure, it's gone now, but next time it may take longer to go, and the time after that...

10 years ago I bought a Willson 3+1 EEflat, and found it uncomfortable to stretch to reach the 4th valve. I thought I'd get used to it, but instead, the pain gradually got worse, and stayed with me for longer when I wasn't playing. Bottom line, I'm finally ditching the horn before it cripples me!

There are companies that make more ergonomic straps/harnesses (Blue Note, Meinl Weston...). Check the archives, as this was discussed not long ago.
