Here goes: Get a small bottle of contact cement (the local hardware store will have some), take the end of the spring and dip it into the contact cement. Let it dry and voila! the springs will not make any more noise.
I am a professional repairman and did this to my Meinl Weston 2000 after cleaning off the bottom caps.
The previous response is also correct. You have to make certain the springs are centered when you put the valves back in. A pencil or pen will move the spring to the center of the bottom cap, make sure it is centered by looking at it, and then just put the valve back in.
