I appreciate where the discussion has gone, but I think something was missed, and I probably did the missing.

My real hope was that the discussion would hit on the topic of experience as a function of teaching, rather than on whether or not a college education "makes" a better player.

There are natural players (I count myself as one) who have to work very hard to diagnose and fix potential problems because they never had any. There are players who never have to diagnose anything because they had to overcome problems in order to be where they are today. Now, which of those makes the better teacher, or can that be quantified?
