Unfortunately, a number of really good recordings of the 5th are now out-of-print. If you live where there are a number of used stores, I'd suggest looking there first. My first choice is the fast and exciting Franz Welser-Most (the new Cleveland Orchestra guy)/London Phil. recording from EMI, which was taken from a live performance in Vienna's Musikverein. Karajan and Haitink both made good recordings of the work. If you still have a turntable, look for the Barenboim/Chicago (DG) on vinyl. That one has a brass chorale to die for. Good luck.
