I'm very sure that Roger Bobo did it on his CC. The reason for the F-ish sound is because he used the Mirafone 184 which was such a small horn. It's almost as big as the MW 182 by appearance. But also he centers notes so well that he has such a clear tone. That is still my most favorite tuba album before Gene Pokorny's albums. VERY lyrical player.
